What I got in the mail today! Part 1

I get free samples and coupons in the mail a few times a week. I wanted to start this post in order to keep you updated on all the great free stuff that you can also get!

Today's mail included:

A sample of Dove's Natural Glow lotion
A sample (3 pk) of Tampax Pearl
$5 in coupons for Old Orchard Juices (sign up for the Old Orchard newsletter and you can get these too!!!)
A Hallmark Christmas card

Last week I received:

Men's Degree Deodorant sample
Kotex Liner ( 1 pack)
Whey Low sugar replacement packs
Mystery Hair care sample (Head and Shoulder's)

I just love getting all this free stuff in the mail. I get it from Start Sampling, Walmart, Morafreebies, My Free Product Samples, and going directly to manufacturer websites. If there is a product that you particularly like, go visit the manufacturer's website. Chances are they will have free samples of product or coupons. If not, write or email them and let them know how much you enjoy the product. They will probably send you some.

Cash Delight Paid Me!

I have been a member of Cash Delight for a few weeks. I had my total up to a little over $2. To my shock and delight, I found I had received an automatic payment of my earnings into my Paypal account a few days before Christmas. This was a great surprise. It was only $2.37, but it is always nice to get that little email from Paypal telling you you have received a payment.

Payment From Aileen Tan Dec. 22, 2007 Completed $2.37 USD

So now here is proof that this site pays. Feel free to give it a try, it is completely free and the best part is you can make money without having to sign up for any offers or "free" trials.

Always Read The Fine Print

Recently I saw a banner ad for a Get Paid To site that looked interesting. Supposedly you could get paid not only for completing offers, but also for paid emails and games. I don't really like to sign up for offers so much so I thought it was great that they had more than one way to earn. I went to the site, called Snap Dollars, and was reading the FAQ section, which I normally do to find out how it works and how and when I will be paid.

3. Ok- what about these Offers - am I obligated to sign up?

Absolutely NOT! You are NEVER required to sign up for the Offers on our web site. Choose ONLY the ones you are interested in. Keep in mind though, in many cases signing up for an Offer will also include earning cash.

However, if you continue reading the FAQ section, you will get to this question:

9. Will I have to wait long for my check?

All requests for checks are processed NET 25. SnapRewards must first be paid by our advertisers. What this means is that if you request your check in January, it will be sent on or around Febuary 25.

At least $15 of your total must be made by offers, not just reading email.

What? What does that last line say? At least $15 of earnings MUST come from signing up for offers? I thought they said I didn't have to do any offers. Hmmm....

As you can imagine, I did not join this site as I thought it was a tad dishonest. But it did serve as a reminder to always read the fine print.

Who Doesn't Love Free Stuff?

Well I have unearthed a few gems in the freebie genre. Between these sites, I have been ordering product samples and other free items at the rate of about 5 - 10 per day. These are some of my favorite places to look for freebies.

Morafreebies (if you are interested in joining this site click on the link to the right)
Walmart
Start Sampling
Myfreeproductsamples

This week alone I have ordered about 20 free samples from these sites. These samples are for everything from skincare to coffee. If you love free stuff as much as I do, check out these sites today!

Simple Clicker has gone downhill!

I joined Simple Clicker a few months ago. When I first joined Simple Clicker, it was a great site. There were at least 5-10 ads to click every day. The payout was a low $5 and seemed fairly easily attainable.

This has changed in the last month and a half. I have only had 1-2 ads every week to click. This week I have had none. I am halfway to payout and don't want to give up since I have put in the work but, I believe Simple Clicker will be on the chopping block in December.

I am giving Simple Clicker 2 thumbs down.

Helium - Get Paid to Write!

Helium is a fabulous site for aspiring novelists, freelance writers, and also complete novices. The community at Helium embraces everyone. Your articles are rated against others in the same title by other Helium members and the best rise to the top. The site offers several ways for writers to earn money.

1. You can write an article to an existing title or start a new title of your own in an existing category. These articles can be on anything from cat breeds to automotive repair to internet marketing. You will earn a percentage of the advertising for each article you write.

2. Contests abound on Helium. Helium administrators will give a selection of titles for you to write on. Winners receive up to $75.

3. Marketplace is a section on Helium where publishers place titles. Many Helium writers will submit articles and the publisher selects the winner. These articles pay anywhere from $5 to $100 or more, depending on the publisher.

I have written just over 100 articles on Helium that have been earning me a small passive income for the last few months. I continue to rate articles at least once a week but I haven't written anything new for some time. My articles continue to make me money though, as people continue to read them.

If you are looking for a place to be your creative outlet or looking to earn money for your writing, then Helium is the place for you to begin.

Why Cash Crate and Treasure Trooper aren't as great as everyone says...

Do you like giving out your personal information including credit card numbers to various companies who may or may not be legitimate? Do you like getting a lot of spam in your email inbox? How about calling umpteen different companies to cancel "free" trials? If you are anything like me you do not like any of these things.

While these sites sound good on the surface, the only way to make any real money there is to 1. Have a lot of referrals. or 2. Sign up for a lot of things you may or may not be interested in. The biggest downside is that if you sign up for a free trial and don't want to keep it, you must cancel within a certain number of days in order to not be charged. I don't know about you, but my memory is not that good. In order to keep all your cancellation dates straight you would have to basically chain yourself to a calendar so you didn't miss one.

There are a lot of way better sites out there that are easier to make money on. I would strongly advise against joining either of these two sites.

Monthly Stats are In!

I have been keeping track all month long and the totals are in. This month I have made a total of $23.26 in cash, bringing my grand total of online earnings so far to $140 in cash and advertising. This month alone I have also gotten $40 in gift cards and $50 in free merchandise from various point programs.

My top 5 cash earners this month were:

1. Moola $9.23
2. Quick Rewards $6.54 (Cashed out $6.oo , PAID within 24 hours)
3. Moratraffic $5.36 (Paid for 3rd time)
4 Inbox Dollars $ 2.02
5. Send Earnings $1.85 (Cashed out $10.00 in advertising)

These are my top cash earners this month. I will be cashing out with Moola and Sendearnings within the next week. I have already cashed out with Sendearnings for advertising.

I have cut some programs this month because they were not pulling their weight and I have added some too, so keep an eye out for next month's totals.

Mypoints Gives Great Rewards!

A few years back I joined this gem call Mypoints through another program. I forgot about it for awhile as I really didn't spend a lot of time on the internet at that time. Last year, I started using the program in earnest and I have reaped the rewards.

Yesterday, I checked the mail and what did I find inside? The Walmart giftcard that I had ordered only a week ago from Mypoints. This is a fantastic program where you get points to shop with their partners, read emails and take occasional surveys. You can turn these points in for gift cards to your favorite stores and restaurants. I have received several great rewards from them including:

$20 Bath and Body gift card
$10 Walmart gift card
$25 Old Navy gift card

I am well on my way to receiving another gift card soon. I absolutely love the program. It is easy to earn and they always send out rewards in a timely manner. I have never had any problems with redemptions and usually receive them in a week and a half or less.

If you are not already a member visit http://www.mypoints.com and join today!

Offline Reward Programs Rock Too!

I know this site is supposed to be all about online opportunities to make money and get free stuff, but I just had to take a moment to recommend joining some offline reward programs too. I love to get rewarded, especially if it doesn't take any extra energy on my part.

Most department stores have some kind of frequent buyer club, find out if they have one for what you buy a lot of. For example, JCPenneys and Elder Beerman have lingerie clubs, once you buy a certain number of bras/panties you get 1 for free. These items get expensive and it is a great savings if you can get them free every once in awhile. Ask for a punch card the next time you are in these stores.

Most chain gas stations now offer discount/rewards cards. My gas station of choice offers 5 cents off per gallon using this card every couple of months. When gas is over $3 per gallon every penny counts. Also, it automatically enters my information for all of their frequent buyer clubs. For instance, when I buy 6 fountain pops my 7th one is free. I also get points for every purchase which can be turned in for merchandise including everything from coffee to a gift card to Applebee's.

Another offline reward program to check out? Your bank or credit card issuer. My bank offers a point reward program. For every dollar in purchases I make with my debit card, I receive 2 points. I get 25 points for writing a check and bonus points for paying bills online. These points can be turned in for various things like gift cards, merchandise, and even cash. I am going to make purchases and pay bills anyway so why not get something back?

These are just some of the fantastic ways to get free stuff offline. I have gotten a lot of free merchandise from these various programs and they are definitely worth checking out. No opportunity to get something for free should ever be overlooked.

Here are a few more freebies I found on Morafreebies today. These offers are completely free all you have to do is give them your address so they can mail them too you.

Balzac French Roast Coffee

If you haven't yet joined Morafreebies, I would strongly recommend it.

Mora Sites are the BEST!!

I have been a member of three of the Mora family of sites since August and one since September. They are some of the best sites I have come across for accumulating money quickly and the administrator is the greatest. The sites are as follows:

MoraTraffic

MORATRAFFIC
Get paid to sign up for offers, read emails, take surveys, and visit websites. The payout on this site is a very low $5 and in three months I have never had trouble making this. I have been paid twice through Paypal.

September payment: $5.56 ( I made this in just under 2 weeks, only doing emails)
October payment: $9.98
November payment: (haven't received yet, but I am over payout amount)

MORACHAT

This is a great paid to post forum. Get paid to post on your favorite topics like TV shows, crafting, or the weather. Payout is at $9 through Paypal. After you join you will realize that the $9 is very easy to achieve because it is addicting! Click the link below to join!

http://morachat.com/forum/profile.php?mode=register&refer_id=700

MORASURFING

This site is a manual surf program where you get credits for viewing websites for 20 seconds each. Each credit equals 1 cent and you can cash out at $10.00 through Paypal. The site is fairly new so no one has cashed out yet, but as I stated before the administrator is the best and I would not hesitate to recommend his sites to anyone looking to make money online. If you are interested in joining click below!

http://www.morasurfing.com/?r=trhegirlnextdoor

MORAFREEBIES

Morafreebies is a site where people post great freebies such as store codes, coupons, and samples that they have found on the net. You can also post your own freebies that you have found. For each freebie that you post, you will receive points that you can trade in for gift cards and merchandise. So not only are you getting freebies and saving money, you are also working on getting great rewards. The link is below and a list of some of the currently available freebies is in an earlier post. This one is definitely worth checking out!

http://morafreebies.com/forum/profile.php?mode=register&refer_id=233

The owner of these sites has also opened a new site called www.mymoviecash.com where you get paid to sign up for offers and also earn points that you can turn in for free DVDs. I am not yet a member of this site but I have heard from other members that it is great fun. Check it out!

The thing about the Mora family of sites is that it is just that, a family. If you join one Mora site you will eventually join them all. They are fantastic and operated well.

Quick Rewards is AWESOME!

Quickrewards offers exactly that, quick rewards. Members earn cash and points for shopping, reading emails, signing up for offers, completing daily and hourly clicks, and so much more. This site is well established and has been around for a few years. They even encourage you to cash out as soon as you do your first clicks, just so they can prove to you that they do pay.

As a side note: I cashed out for $6.00 on 11/30/07 and was paid a few hours later.

I am giving this site a big thumbs up! I encourage everyone to join this site ASAP!

Survey sites that you shouldn't waste your time on

I have become a member of several survey sites over the years. Some I will recommend and others I will not. With so many legitimate opportunities out there, why waste your time on something that just takes up your time and gives you no returns? Below is a list of survey sites I would not recommend.

MyView

MyView is an invitation only survey site that I became a member of a while back. I don't remember exactly how I got the invitation, but I started taking surveys for them about a year ago.
I have since completed several surveys, but I have only been paid for one. The biggest problem is that it took almost two months to be credited for that one survey. I don't have time to wait two months to be paid.

I will have to give MyView a thumbs down. I cannot recommend them to anyone and I will be canceling my account with them.

Survey Club

While I will say that you can make a great amount of money with this program, you can only make that money if you are willing to sign up for trial offers of programs such as blockbuster, netflix, or video professor. I take surveys to make money, I don't think that requiring you to sign up for another program that COSTS you money, should be part of the deal.

Mindfield Online

In the 2 years I have been a member of this site, I have not been able to qualify for a single survey. I have only received minimal survey invitations from this site also. I have just recently deleted my account with them.

Testspin

I have only been a member of this site for a few months but, I have never been able to get past the screening questions on any surveys that they have sent. I would not recommend this site if you are hoping to make money.

While none of these sites are scams, I would not recommend spending your time on them. Your time is important so you should get rewarded for it.

Hello All!

I have been a member of GPT (get paid to) sites since before they were cool. Recently I realized that I was a member of so many that I had lost track of them, so I decided to get organized. At the beginning of this month I created a spreadsheet in order to track my earnings, to see which ones are making me money, and which ones are not. I have tweaked my list a few times deleting accounts that weren't going anywhere and adding new programs that were recommended by friends.

In coming posts, as my experiment continues, I will share with you what is working, what is not, and how to get free stuff simply by giving up an hour or so of time every week.

I will be getting my month end totals next week and I will post them here.
